Unfortunately, FOX cancelled Firefly midway through it’s first season. In fact, three of the episodes you saw (“Trash,” “The Message,” and “Heart of Gold”) were not aired in it’s original run. So the fourteen episodes on Netflix, DVD, Blu-Ray, what have you, are all we have of the show. But fear not! If you crave more of the Firefly-verse, there is a lovely movie called Serenity that contains much of the plot Joss Whedon planned for season 2, as well as a few tie-in comics. Also, I highly recommend the Firefly and Serenity Visual Companions. They don’t have more story in them, but they have a lot about the production of the show and an alternate script for at least one episode :-)
