Can we talk about how this is the only time River Tam ever lied to her brother? And how she honestly felt that she didn’t belong, and knew that Simon’s life would be so much easier without her? She was prepared to be taken back to the people who tortured her, ran experiments on her, shoved needles in her eyes, stripped her amygdala so she couldn’t repress anything that made her confused or scared or angry—all because of what Simon had done for her, and how hard it was for him, for everyone else in his life. She knew what it would do to her, but she had become a dangerous liability, and she was ready to fix that for the people she loved.
Also, slow clapping for Summer’s acting here. I was all teary when I first watched this.
